Dunkirk-Fredonia Lions offer trip for veterans
The Dunkirk-Fredonia Lions Club is gauging interest for a trip for veterans to Washington, D.C.
The proposed one-day trip would leaving about 11 to 11:30 p.m. on May 24 and return home late May 25, a Saturday evening.
The group of veterans would visit the World War II, Korean and Vietnam monuments as well as Arlington Cemetery.
All veterans who served in the military in Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan and in the theater of operations in World War II are welcome.
If a veteran needs assistance from his/her spouse, the Lions could probably accommodate them. The Lions will have escorts on the trip to assist people and wheelchairs can be accommodated.
Contact Lion Peter Clark by mail at P.O. Box 109, Fredonia 14063 or by phone during business hours at 673-1361 for further information or to express an interest in the trip.
If too many sign up, older veterans would be given preference.
