Village residents will head to the polls Tuesday for village elections. Below are the candidates running for area village races.

CATTARAUGUS COUNTY

GOWANDA

There are two candidates running for the position of mayor. Heather McKeever, who has been endorsed by the Open Door Party, is being challenged by Peter P. Johnson, who has been endorsed by the Taxpayers Choice Party.

For trustee, there are two candidates running for two seats. Carol A. Sheibley has been endorsed by the Allegiance Party, while Paul M. Zimmermann has been endorsed by the Open Door Party.

SOUTH DAYTON

One candidate is running for mayor, while five candidates are running for three trustee seats.

Scott R. Kerr has been endorsed by both the Democratic and the Republican parties.

For trustee, Lori K. Petersen and Robert Killock have been endorsed by the Democratic Party and are seeking a two-year term. Meanwhile, the Republican Party has endorsed Dennis D. Ackley and Lynn J. Rupp for trustee for two-year terms.

There is a vacancy on the trustee board for a one-year term. Kristen Griffin has the endorsement of both the Democratic and Republican parties.

Polls are open from noon to 9 p.m. on Tuesday. There are also village races in Allegany, Cattaraugus, Delevan, Ellicottville, Little Valley and Portville. The Cattaraugus County Board of Elections runs all village elections except for Delevan.

CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY

BROCTON

There are three trustee candidates running for two seats in the village. Gary Planty and Arthur Donovan are endorsed by the Democratic and Concord parties. Nicholas A. Rizzo is the endorsed Republican Party candidate.

CASSADAGA

There are no contested races in the village. LeeAnn B. Lazarony is running for mayor. She has been endorsed by the Progressive Party.

Michael T. Lehnen and Jeffrey A. Frick are running for trustee. Both have been endorsed by the Taxpayers Party.

CHERRY CREEK

There are three candidates running for two trustee seats on the village board. Bethany Gross-Smock is the endorsed Democratic Party candidate. John F. Lukaszewski and Bruce W. Hendricks are the endorsed Republican Party candidates.

FORESTVILLE

There are two candidates running for mayor and four candidates running for two trustee seats.

Running for mayor are Linda F. Aures and Katherine Bowker. Aures has the endorsement of the Democratic and Taxpayers parties, while Bowker has the endorsement of the Republican Party.

For trustee, candidates running are Margaret Borrello, Gloria Yeager, Kevin Johnson and Kimberly Stott. Borrello has been endorsed by the Democratic and Taxpayers parties. Yeager and Johnson have been endorsed by the Republican Party. Stott has been endorsed by the Good Citizens Party.

SILVER CREEK

There is one candidate running for mayor and four trustee candidates running for two seats in the village.

Nicodemo Piccolo is the endorsed mayoral candidate for the Republican and Democratic parties.

For trustee, Deanna Coggins, Anthony Pearl, Thomas R. Harmon and Warren Kelly are all running. Coggins and Pearl have both been endorsed by the Democratic and Taxpayers parties. Harmon and Kelly have both been endorsed by the Republican and Fiscal parties.

SINCLAIRVILLE

There are no contested races in the village. Kenneth C. France is running for Mayor. He has been endorsed by the Helping Hands Party. Patricia J. France and David N. Emmott are running for trustee. France has been endorsed by the Helping Hands Party, while Emmott has been endorsed by the Restoration Party.

WESTFIELD

There are two candidates running for mayor, four candidates running for two trustee seats and one candidate running for village justice.

David Carr and Michael VandeVelde are seeking the mayoral seat. Carr has been endorsed by the Republican and Concord parties, while VandeVelde has been endorsed by the Democratic and Westfield First parties.

For trustee, candidates running include Robert Cochran, Debra S. Puckhaber, Thomas Rackowski and Chris Jaynes. Cochran and Puckhaber have been endorsed by the Democratic and Westfield First parties, while Rackowski and Jaynes have been endorsed by the Republican and Concord parties.

Running for village justice is Jeffrey R. Thomas. He has been endorsed by the Democratic and Westfield First parties.

Polls will be open Tuesday from noon to 9 p.m. The Chautauqua County Board of Elections runs all village elections except for Cassadaga and Sinclairville, where the village clerks act as the chief election officers. There are no races in Mayville. There are also races in Bemus Point, Falconer, Lakewood, Panama and Sherman. Celoron holds its elections in November. Fredonia, which as a special charter, held its election last week.

ERIE COUNTY

ANGOLA

There are no contested races in the village.

Howard “Hub” Frawley is running for mayor. John Wilson and Charles Katra are running for the two trustee seats up for election.

FARNHAM

Peter Zaenglein is running unopposed for a one-year term for trustee.

NORTH COLLINS

There are no contested races in the village. Vincent George is running for mayor. He is seeking a four-year term. Thomas O’Boyle is seeking a one-year term as trustee on the village board.

There are other races in Akron, Alden, Blasdell, Depew, East Aurora, Lancaster, Orchard Park and Sloan. The Erie County Board of Elections does not run village elections.
