Cassadaga Church to hold dinner and movie night Friday

The Cassadaga Commun-ity Baptist Church, located at 25 Maple Ave. in the village, will hold a dinner and movie night Friday in the Fellowship Hall.

The dinner will begin at 5 p.m. and the movie “Hugo” will follow.

The dinner and movie night are free and open to everyone.

Note the time change for this month’s dinner. Everyone is welcome.

Brocton board meeting changed to March 27

The Village of Brocton Board of Trustees and Village Clerk remind residents that the second March board meeting, originally scheduled for Wednesday has been changed. The board will meet instead on March 27 at 7 p.m..

“Due to the announcement of the school merger study results on March 20, we decided to change our meeting date and encourage as many community members as are able to attend that important meeting on the 27, as our village board members plan to,” said Brocton Village Clerk Karen Ardillo.

The Board of Trustees typically meets every first and third Wednesday of the month.

Gas prices fall

Average retail gasoline prices in Rochester have fallen 2.2 cents per gallon in the past week, averaging $3.89/g Sunday, according to GasBuddy’s daily survey of 319 gas outlets in Rochester.

This compares with the national average that has fallen 1.9 cents per gallon in the last week to $3.65/g, according to gasoline price website GasBuddy.com.

Including the change in gas prices in Rochester during the past week, prices Sunday were 4.4 cents per gallon lower than the same day one year ago and are 4.0 cents per gallon lower than a month ago.

The national average has decreased 4.1 cents per gallon during the last month and stands 15.0 cents per gallon lower than this day one year ago.

Spoke Folk and Aspire to hold open house

Spoke Folk and Aspire of WNY will host an open house on Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. at 819 Central Ave., Dunkirk.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held at 6 p.m. The community is welcome to join them for building tours, informational sessions and activities for all ages.

Also, refreshments and a special door prize will be available.

Fredonia Planning Board meeting canceled

The Village of Fredonia Planning Board meeting, which was scheduled for today, March 19, has been canceled.
