Cassadaga’s historian presents report to Thule Lodge

BEMUS POINT – During the past year, Thule Lodge and Village of Cassadaga Historian John Sipos kept records of events and activities of the Lodge through photographs, records and news articles. At a recent meeting of the lodge, Sipos presented a book containing pages of records and photographs of the lodge to the 2013 lodge chairman Jeff Anderson, and immediate past chairman Ralph Veights.

Thule Lodge member Susan W. Sipos, who has been a member of the Lodge for more than 28 years, is a computer artist, and created the cover and the title page of the historical book incorporating many Swedish events.

Thule Lodge serves to preserve Swedish heritage through events and activities. The Lodge began as a social organization for Swedish immigrants in 1907. The lodge is a part of the New District No. 4 Swedish organization and the International VASA Order.

Thule Lodge is located at 4123 Pancake Hill Road. Thule Lodge is now into its 106th year in this area. Sipos has served as the Cassadaga historian for more than eight years, and as the Thule Lodge historian for more than 12 years.
