Marie Carrubba appointed JCC trustee

Marie T. Carrubba has been appointed to the Jamestown Community College board of trustees by Governor Andrew Cuomo. Her term will expire in June 2018.

Carrubba, executive director of the Southwestern Independent Living Center Inc. since 1984, earned bachelor and juris doctor degrees at the University of Buffalo. She was admitted to the New York State Bar in 1983.

She is a member of the boards of directors of The Resource Center, TRC Foundation, Chautauqua Opportunities, Chautauqua County Workforce Investment Board and Chautauqua County Community Services Board.

A mediator for the Center for Resolution and Justice since 2002, Carrubba has been chairperson of the City of Jamestown Human Rights Commission since 2000 and the Chautauqua County Persons With Developmental Disabilities Committee since 2004.

Carrubba is also a member of the City of Jamestown Reapportionment Commission and was recently appointed to serve on the Jamestown City Council.
