The Resource Center’s appoints a new director of fiscal services

The Resource Center is pleased to announce the addition of Kelly Szymanowicz as the agency’s director of fiscal services.

“I was drawn to the mission of TRC and the important role the agency plays in our community. I also connected with the administrative team right away,” Szymanowicz said. “I look forward to collaborating with program directors on financial and budgeting matters while ensuring the mission of The Resource Center.”

Since joining TRC, Szymanowicz has spent a lot of time focusing her attention and working on this year’s agency budget.

“These are very challenging times, but very important times. It’s crucial we maintain the agency’s financial stability,” she said. “I hope to strengthen the agency’s organizational viability by managing, developing and implementing sound fiscal systems.”

“We interviewed a number of excellent candidates for the position, but Kelly was the definite stand-out,” Denise Jones, TRC’s associate executive director and chief operating officer, said. “The diversity of services that TRC provides creates many complexities from a fiscal standpoint, and Kelly has already proven to be a tremendous addition to our team.”

Szymanowicz grew up in Fredonia and currently lives in Hamburg. She went to college at St. Bonaventure University, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in business administration and subsequently obtained a master’s degree in business administration with a concentration in accounting. She earned her title of licensed certified public accountant and has worked as a corporate reporting manager for M&T Bank in Buffalo and as a senior auditor for Ernst and Young in Buffalo.

Szymanowicz is a board member of the Nathan George Foundation, a non-profit group that supports community and school sport organizations within Chautauqua County.

The Resource Center, Chautauqua County’s largest employer, provides services and supports to people with disabilities and their families. The agency offers a variety of health and behavioral health services that are available to anyone in the community.
