Brocton library offers child development
educational program on Wednesday
The Ahira Hall Memorial Library, 37 W. Main St., Brocton, LARC, Library in the Arts, Reading and Culture program, will present Children’s Develop-mental Stages as Reflected in Their Artwork, Preschool to Middle School on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m.
Come learn how your children’s drawings reflect intellectual, physical, emotional and social development.
The presentation will be by Lucy Andrus, MSEd, ATR of the Art Education Department at Buffalo State.

Dunkirk school district pre-k registration set
The Dunkirk City School District will conduct registrations for the 2013-2014 school year. Registrations will begin April 8 and continue through May 17 at the Administration Building, 620 Marauder Drive. Pending approval of Universal Prekindergarten funding by New York State, the district anticipates operating the prekindergarten program at Wheelock School in Fredonia for the 2013-2014 school year. New York state funds a limited number of spots for this program. The district does not have a first-come, firstserve registration list. Student placement will be determined through the use of a lottery system to be held in late May as required by the New York State Education Department.

Blood drive Tuesday
A blood drive will be held at the Cherry Creek Fire Hall Tuesday from 3 to 9 p.m.
Fredonia church to sponsor 1,000 Easter egg hunt
As part of its Easter celebration, Christ Community Church, 219 Berry Road, Fredonia, will hold a 1,000 Easter egg hunt on the church grounds Saturday.
The hunt is open to all children in the community fifth grade and under. Younger children will have their own area for the egg hunt.
Children will also get the chance to make a craft and get a snack.
Children should dress appropriately for the weather. If necessary the hunt will be moved indoors.

Mayor to speak
to Rotary Tuesday
Dunkirk Mayor Anthony J. Dolce will speak to the Rotary Club of Dunkirk Tuesday at Shorewood Country Club.
The lunch meeting begins at 12:15 p.m. and will include a short recap of the State of the City address, which was made March 15. The mayor will then take questions from the audience.
There is a $10.50 fee for lunch and the public is invited to attend.
