June Jordan Carris

June Jordan Carris, 56, of 7 Burton St., Ripley N.Y. passed away Wednesday (March 20, 2013) at UPMC Hamot Medical Center, Erie, Pa.

She was born August 3, 1956 in Westfield, N.Y. the daughter of Gordon P. and Annabelle Caron Carris.

A smile I have seen a million times, Two eyes that would light up the sky at night, One last battle you could not fight, The beauty, grace, and love cannot be dimmed.

June raised four beautiful strong children Corey, Casey, Nicole, Raymond who became and blossomed into four strong adults with families of their own. June raised her children off the core values given to her by her father and mother. She loved to spend time with her family. She loved sewing, shopping and spending time with her 11 grandchildren whom she loved dearly. In her younger years she loved farming and horseback riding with her siblings and family. She also loved baking for her family especially for her father Gordon P. Carris Sr. She shared her love through her cooking, baking and other creative things she did. In her late years June enjoyed playing bingo with her mother, the late Annabelle M. Carris. June also enjoyed sitting outside watching the humming birds and just enjoying life. She enjoyed every aspect of life, no matter if you were family or not. She always gave people a helping hand. June was the light in a lot of people’s lives. June passed away unexpectedly; she went to meet her mother Annabelle M. Carris , her son Norman Caron Jr. and other loved ones. She will be sadly missed by all different people in different walks of life.

She is survived by her father Gordon P. Carris, of Ripley, N.Y.; her children Corey P. (Heidi) Caron Sr. of Ripley: Casey P. (Jamie) Caron, Brocton, N.Y.; Nicole (Michael) Steeples, Jamestown, N.Y. and Raymond Gates of North East, Pa.; 11 grandchildren; her brother, Gordon P. (Melissa) Carris of Sherman, N.Y.; two sisters, Sonia McGuay, and Denise Carris both of Falconer, N.Y.

She was preceded in death by her mother Annabelle M. Carris, August 3, 2012; son Norman P. Caron; and paternal grandparents Gerald and Arlouin Carris.

A memorial service will be held April 20, 2013, at 11:00 AM, at the First Baptist Church, Sherman, N.Y., with Rev. Paul Sears, officiating. Friends will be received for one hour prior to the service at church.

Arrangements are being handled by the Spitzer Funeral Home, Sherman, New York.
