STAR program unchanged for 2013
City of Dunkirk Assessor Thomas Mleczko wants city residents to know the re-registering for the STAR program being talked about is part of the New York state budget currently being proposed. It does not impact the STAR program for 2013 . Residents who have already signed up are fine.
For those residents who have not done so, the City of Dunkirk’s deadline is May 1 for the current STAR program.
“From what we’re hearing as of (Tuesday), residents will register directly with the state Department of Tax and Finance starting later this year,” Mleczko said of the current budget proposal’s available information. “We have no information on how that will be done or what will be needed to register. We will be releasing details as they become available.”
