Special message on Good Friday

Editor, OBSERVER:

I found a copy of this poem that was put in your paper before. I thought that it would be nice to put it in again.

“Christ Died For Me”

I was born His Special Child.

Without a trace of having sinned.

Sweet and cuddly as can be.

I did not know…

He had died for me.

They dragged him away that day.

Not knowing he was The King.

They placed a crown upon his head

I did not know…

He had died for me.

The enraged crowd shouted “Kill Him.”

They condemned him to die.

Of course they didn’t know why.

I did not know…

He had died for me.

On that cold and dark day,

A long time ago and far away,

They nailed my Savior to the tree

I did not know…

He had died for me.

His father in heaven wept,

Because He could not save His Son.

It was the plan, you see. But…

I did not know…

He had died for me.

Christ died upon the tree,

To save me from my sins, you see.

Paying the price for you and me.

I did not know…

He had died for me.
