Howard and Doris Ferry of Fredonia recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. The couple was married Feb. 14, 1953 at the United Methodist Church in Brocton.

Doris is a retired homemaker. Howard is retired from grape farming on Mc-Al-Lee Farms, and from owning and operating a fruit and vegetable stand. He also owned and operated The Covered Wagon Ice Cream Shop.

The couple celebrated their anniversary by having dinner together with their family at the Whiskey Hill Saloon in Cassadaga. That was followed by a surprise party in their home attended by 30 close friends and family members, who enjoyed cake, punch and coffee.
