Jamestown Bowling Co. hosts state BPA Family Tournament

Jamestown Bowling Company will host the 38th annual New York State Bowling Proprietors Association (BPA) Family Tournament April 28 at 10 a.m. on 850 Foote Ave., Jamestown. The entry fee is $35 per team, split into two divisions: parent/youth and parent/teen. The best teams from each division – at an advancement ratio of 1:5 – will head to the Owego Bowl in Owego June 8 for the Upstate Finals with the winners from that tournament traveling to Columbus, Ohio July 25-28 for the QUBICA/AMF International Family Tournament with a three-night hotel stay, a $750 travel stipend, meals, activities and a portion of the $70,000 scholarship pool. Second-place finishers in the Upstate Finals get $300 scholarships while third-place finishers get $100 scholarships. For more information, contact JBC at 716-483-1818.

JABC Hall of Fame Masters Scratch Tournament Set

For Next Weekend

The 11th annual Jamestown Area Bowling Council (JABC) Hall of Fame Masters Scratch Tournament will be held next Sunday, April 14 at Jamestown Bowling Company, 850 Foote Ave., Jamestown. Three flight squads will play at 10 a.m., noon and 2 p.m.. The top eight from each flight make it into the elimination-style finals, where total pinfall decides the champion. The winner gets a guaranteed prize of $1,500 while the runner-up earns $800 and the third-place finisher gets $500. The entry fee is $65, $50 of which goes directly to the prize fund. One out of every five competitors will win a prize and all prize-related fees will be returned in full. All bowlers must hold current USBC cards, as the event is played under USBC rules. The tournament is sponsored by Butternut Brook Equine Center, Ray and Cathie Textor and Larry Case from Mir Oil. For more information, call JBC at 716-483-1818.

Pinehurst ParTee Girls

The Pinehurst ParTee Girls will hold their organizational meeting on Tuesday, April 16 at 6 p.m. at the Pinehurst Golf Course. All returning teams and anyone wishing to join the league should attend.

Hillview Tuesday Night Men’s League

There will be an informational meeting at the Dunkirk Falcon Club on Sunday, April 7 at 7 p.m. All golfers are encouraged to attend.

Cassadaga Valley Online T-ball Signups

Anyone wishing to sign up players for Valley T-ball should email Bob Reuther at conrad@netsync.net.

The email should include the participant’s name, age, preferred team (if they have one), T-shirt size, contact name and phone number.

Players must be 5-7 years old as of Dec. 31, 2012. Cost is $5 and needs to be paid at the first game. A coach is needed for Sinclairville and Stockton.

Wednesday Evening Men’s League

The Wednesday Evening Men’s League will meet on April 17 at 7 p.m. at the Pinehurst Golf Course. All returning and new teams are asked to be there.

Rule changes and other important issues will be discussed and members are invited to arrive at 5 p.m. to participate in a 9-hole fun match if possible.

WNY PGA Announces Pee Wee Tour

The Western New York PGA Section is excited to announce that registration for the Pee Wee Tour has begun.

The Pee Wee Tour is for kids ages 5-9 who are just learning the sport. The tour is designed to be a fun and non-competitive way to introduce junior golfers to the game of golf. The tour consists of seminars and non-competitive golf tournaments, where the players play five holes from modified tees and have their parents/grandparents caddie for them. Gary Tripp Memorial Golf Tournament

The Gary Tripp Memorial Golf Tournament is set for Sept. 14 at Shorewood Country Club.

There will be a dinner to follow at the Kosciuszko Club.

NCCYHA Accepting Letters of Interest for Coaching Positions

The Northern Chautauqua County Youth Hockey Association (NCCYHA) is accepting letters of interest for the position of head coach for Pee Wee and Bantam Tier III travel teams.

Interested applicants must submit letters to NCCYHA President, Shaun Fadale, at sfadale@netsync.net, by April 5.

Kids’ Night Out

Fredonia State will host a Kids’ Night Out on Friday from 6:30 until 9:30 p.m., at Steele Hall, for students in grades 1-6.

The night will include games, activities and swimming. The cost is $10 per participant. Cash will be the only acceptable form of payment and a concession stand will be available.
