Lake Shore Savings offering home buyer seminar April 23

Lake Shore Savings will offer a home buyer seminar on April 23 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at its Fredonia branch location at 30 E. Main St. There is no admission fee for this seminar, and participants will be eligible for a waiver of application fee for a six-month period.

Presenters include Patty Bertges, mortgage originator; Adam Dimitri, assistant vice president; Stephen Zanghi, attorney; and Alan Shaw, realtor. They will discuss such topics as credit scores, mortgage pre-qualification, applying for mortgages, down payment requirements, closing costs and the available mortgage products and programs.

County Planning Board meets Tuesday

The next meeting of the Chautauqua County Planning Board has been scheduled for Tuesday at 4 p.m. at the Boomerang Cafe, 897 Southwestern Drive, Jamestown.

BOCES to offer

college prep course

BOCES Adult Education Division will offer a college prep course beginning Monday at the Central Avenue Community Learning Center, 324 Central Ave. in Dunkirk.

Classes will run from 5 to 8 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays through June 5 and will focus on increasing students’ math, reading and writing skills.

All students will be administered a Test of Adult Basic Education on the first evening of classes.

The cost of the class is $100 and seating is limited.
