Williams nets goal in final minute to give Knights win
EDEN – Zeddie Williams scored the game-winning goal in the final minute to lift the Silver Creek Black Knights (2-0) past Eden, 11-10, Tuesday in high school lacrosse action.
“Eden is a well-disciplined team,” Silver Creek coach Bill Brennan said. “They were hard workers. It’s tough to beat hard work.”
Silver Creek trailed most of the game and were down by as many as four goals in the second half.
“We just had a lot of turnovers,” Brennan said. “We weren’t working together as a team. It’s going to take time, but I am praying this will be the toughest game. If we don’t take this seriously, there won’t be any repeats here.”
Williams, who drew a lot of double and triple teams, finished with a goal and three assists. Sherman Williams and Brennan White each had four goals while Kaine Kettle had two goals and four assists.
The Black Knights return to action today at St. Francis.
