Animals to join in the fun at community Spring Egg Hunt Saturday

The Delta Chi Fraternity at SUNY Fredonia is presenting its third annual Spring Egg Hunt for the children and families of the Fredonia/Dunkirk and surrounding communities on the President’s Lawn. The Spring Egg Hunt will be on Saturday from 1 to 3:30 p.m. (the egg hunt itself will begin promptly at 2 p.m.) at 194 Central Ave. in Fredonia.

Rebecca Joy of JM Joy Farms, Margaret Bruegel of Roo Haven Farms, and Malinda McGuinn of Fredonia Farmers’ Market will be providing animals on the day of the event for the participants to enjoy. The animals provided include goats, ducks, turkeys, chickens and rabbits. These animals will be fenced in to a designated area on Dr. Horvath’s property.

The crafts will take place from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Twichell and Sam are known for organizing FestivalsFredonia Santa’s Workshop. For this event, they have created four spring-time crafts. The children and their families will be able to meet special guests Mr. Bunny, Mr. Carrot and Mr. Mad Hatter. They will assist the committee with the event and will be available for photographs with the children.

The Delta Chi Fraternity has been at SUNY Fredonia for the last 20 years. The fraternity wants to increase their exposure to the surrounding community through volunteerism. Delti Chi extends thanks to Dr. Horvath and the generous donations from sponsors; also thanks go to Twichell, Sam, and the SUNY Fredonia administration. Parking will be available on Central Avenue during the event. For more information, call (718) 414-3809.
