Boys & Girls Club opens its doors
The Boys & Girls Club of Northern Chautauqua County joins some 4,000 Boys & Girls Clubs across America and on U.S. military installations overseas in the annual “Open the Door Club Tour.” The Boys & Girls Club of Northern Chautauqua County is inviting the public to visit the Club located at the St. Hyacinth’s School on 296 Lake Shore Drive East in Dunkirk, to discover the magic happening behind its doors. Participants will experience first-hand how Clubs are making a difference in the lives of local young people. The official guided tour will take place on Friday at 3:30 p.m., but feel free to visit during the week as well. The club is open weekdays from 2:30 to 5 p.m.
“Boys & Girls Clubs are increasingly playing a vital role in many young people’s lives,” said Michael Civiletto, program coordinator of Boys & Girls Club of Northern Chautauqua County. “We offer a place that provides caring guidance as well as engaging programs that help kids do well in school, give back to their communities and choose healthy lifestyles.”
Today, an Open the Door to Healthy Lifestyles will be held at the club. Visit from FSU Latinos Unidos Cultural Club, relay races and parachute games
In addition to the tour on Friday, a Community Open House will be held. Join in for Blue Cookies baked by George Civiletto and Coffee donated by Buster Brown Bean Company on 21 E. Second St. in Dunkirk. Gift cards for the coffee shop will also be raffled off.
