TLC Health Network official selected for national leadership presentation
Linda Summers, Chief Operating Officer (COO), OT, MBA, FACHE, at TLC Health Network, was recently selected as a member of the seminar faculty for the 2013 Congress on Healthcare Leadership held in Chicago from March 11 to 14. The national event, “Changing Healthcare by Design,” was sponsored by the Foundation of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
Summers’ presentation, “Outsourcing and Consulting Agreements for Successful Partnerships,” was given during the initial day of the Congress sessions held at the Hilton Chicago. The presentation focused on crucial steps for healthcare executives, hospital administrators and consultants/contractors to sharpen their skills for develop win-win partnerships for success. Using a newly-designed evaluation tool, Summers discussed methods for effective analysis during the pre-engagement period, ongoing mutual accountability among parties during the process and appropriate renegotiation or post-engagement follow-up. The COO joined the TLC Health Network in November 2011, overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Irving hospital and each of the TLC Health Network clinic facilities. Her prior professional expertise includes experience as a Vice President for RehabCare Group Inc., assisting hospitals across the national with all areas of operational performance. Summers also served as Senior Vice President & Chief Operating Officer at Charles Cole Memorial Hospital in Coudersport, Pa.
This year’s 2013 Congress included more than 140 seminars, general sessions and other events addressing the issues of quality and safety, patient-centered care, physician alignment and financial strategies for healthcare leadership.
