Poloncarz appoints new commissioner of senior services
BUFFALO – Erie County Executive Mark C. Poloncarz Friday named Randall Hoak as the new Commissioner of Senior Services in Erie County. Hoak, who had been serving as Interim Commissioner prior to his appointment, has also served as the Supervisor of Program Development and Evaluation in the department. He has additional work experience in the aging field in the Town of Hamburg, working as a Program Coordinator at Hamburg Adult Day Services and as Recreation Supervisor of Senior Services for the Town. Hoak has also served as Director of Recreation for the Erie County Medical Center Corporation at the Erie County Home.
“I am pleased to appoint Randy to the position of Commissioner of Senior Services and am confident that he will excel in the position,” said Poloncarz. “Randy knows the challenges facing the County’s senior population, having experience in community based long term care and knowledge of the skilled nursing environment, and he also understands the need to include community-based services as part of our plan to best serve older adults. I know he will put the needs of Erie County seniors first.”
Commissioner Hoak added, “I am excited to work with County Executive Poloncarz, the dedicated staff in Senior Services, and our many community partners to continue quality services to older adults and ensure that Erie County is ready for the changes coming to the aging network.”
The Department of Senior Services strives to enhance the independence, quality of life, and well-being of older adults through the provision and monitoring of community based services and supports.
