Knights remain perfect in lacrosse

BUFFALO – A strong defensive effort and solid goaltending helped Silver Creek (5-0) remain perfect on the year, as the Black Knights dropped Nichols, 10-1, in non-league boys lacrosse action.

“The defense set the tone to start the game,” Silver Creek head coach Bill Brennan said. “They pressured the ball and transitioned well and got the ball up to the attack men. They worked the ball around and played Silver Creek field lacrosse.”

Seventh grader Chase Scanlan continued to impress as he made 10 saves for the win.

“He kind of sparks our team,” Brennan said of his young goalie. “He gets the guys fired up in the huddle and I think we work off his high intensity.”

Kaine Kettle and Zeddie Williams each had two goals and three assists while Sherman Williams added three goals and an assist in the win. Also for the Black Knights, Brennan White had two goals and an assist while Owen Tallchief added a goal.

Silver Creek opens its Class C schedule today at 5 p.m., against Medina.
