Brocton ed board meeting Tuesday

The Brocton Central School Board of Education will hold a special meeting on Tuesday at 6 p.m. in the board conference room.

The Audit Committee will meet at 5 p.m. to review the internal auditor’s report.

Rummage sale and bake sale this weekend

The South Dayton United Methodist Church will hold a rummage sale and bake sale Friday and Saturday.

On Friday, the sale will run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. On Saturday, the sale will run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., with a bag sale beginning at noon.

The church is located at 328 Pine St., South Dayton.

TEA Party meeting scheduled Tuesday

Southern Tier TEA Party Patriots will hold its next general meeting at 7 p.m. on Tuesday at the Lakewood American Legion, 174 Chautauqua Ave.

Featured speaker will be Budd Schroeder of Shooters Committee on Political Education.

Schroeder will address the attack on, and erosion of, the right of the people to bear arms.

Also, information will be presented on the Common Core State Standards and the agenda advocated by the Obama administration .

Many states, including New York, are getting on this bandwagon because they will receive money from the government and corporations.

Additionally, the issues of hydrofracking and UN Agenda 21 will be addressed. The public is urged to attend and receive information on these critical issues.

Chicken and biscuit fundraiser in Forestville

The Forestville Food Pantry will host a chicken and biscuit dinner fundraiser Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the St. Rose of Lima Hall, 11 Center St., Forestville.

The menu will include chicken over biscuits, salad, vegetable, apple/cranberry sauce and dessert. Tickets are $8 for adults and $4 for children.
