Remington pitches Brocton past Ellicottville, 20-3

ELLICOTTVILLE – The Brocton Bulldogs (1-1, 1-3) scored five runs in the second inning and added seven more in the sixth en route to a 20-3 win over the Ellicottville Eagles Wednesday in CCAA Division 3 high school baseball action.

Brocton’s offensive output was supported by a complete game from pitcher Daulton Remington, as he allowed three hits, walked four batters and struck out seven.

“I think we finally came out hitting and pitching,” Brocton coach Terry Presto said. “Daulton threw a big game with just four walks. Throwing a three-hitter was a confidence-builder for him as a sophomore.”

The Bulldogs’ five-run second frame was a product of two-run singles by Latham Dunn and Wade Austin. Dan Ferguson had a two-run double in the sixth while Jordan Patterson and Dunn added an RBI each.

Dunn led Brocton at the plate after a 3 for 5 afternoon with a pair of runs batted in. Patterson went 2 for 3 with two RBI while Austin went 1 for 4 with three RBI.

Calum Watt had the lone extra-base hit for the Eagles with a double in the second inning. Phalla Musall threw four innings and earned the loss for Ellicottville.
