Evans Conservative Party elects officers

On Monday, the Town of Evans Conservative Party conducted its the organizational meeting. On the agenda was the election of officers.

Elected: Charles Castig-lia-Chairman; Sam Loman-do Jr.-Vice Chairman; Christine Coventry-Treas-urer; Stanley Radawan-Sec-retary.

Plans were discussed for a spring get together the first week in June in the Town of Evans. All are welcome.

Chili-Soup & Dessert Rally Sunday hosted

by City Dem Committee

The City of Dunkirk Democratic Committee will host a help yourself Chili-Soup & Dessert Rally Sunday at the First Ward Falcon Club, 341 Lake Shore Drive E. on Sunday.

A variety of chilis, soups and desserts will be served from noon to 3 p.m., all for a $5 donation

Marion Art Gallery hosts SUNY Fredonia student exhibition

The works of 11 students from the Department of Visual Arts and New Media at SUNY Fredonia will be displayed in the Cathy and Jesse Marion Art Gallery at Rockefeller Arts Center beginning today.

Titled “fully loaded,” the exhibition will open with a reception in the art gallery from 7 to 9 p.m. today. The show will run through Thursday. Both the reception and exhibition are free and open to the public.

The exhibition will highlight the best works from graduating students from the Department of Visual Arts and New Media. Artists taking part in the exhibition: Adrienne Childs, Erika Colon, Sarah Fintel, Marissa Forward, Ashley Hiser, Elizabeth Horne, Sarah Lewandowski, Tyler McMillan, Molly Petroski, Melinda Rowekamp and March Younglove.

Gallery hours are 2 to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday, 2 to 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday.

Village of Gowanda yard waste pickup set for April 29

The village of Gowanda will have the first yard waste pickup on April 29.

Grass, leaves, hedge and tree trimmings and limbs shorter than three feet must be tied in bundles. All must be in an open container such as bushel basket or garbage cans, etc. Debris will not be picked up in plastic bags. Leaves are not to be raked to the curb for loose pickup.

Other pickups for the year will be on July 29 and Oct. 28.
