Heritage Village Rehab & Skilled Nursing Honors 2012 Volunteer of the Year

Cherin Mehs, a volunteer at Heritage Village Rehab & Skilled Nursing Inc. (Gerry), was recently presented with the 2012 Volunteer of the Year Award by Norine Cramer, Corporate Activities Director/ Volunteer Coordinator for Heritage Ministries.

The Volunteer of the Year award recognizes the extraordinary unselfish efforts of local community members who give their time and talents for the benefit of the nursing facility’s residents.

When asked to share a few words about Cherin, Norine Cramer said, “Cherin goes beyond caring … she makes our residents part of her family. She is always thinking of them and showing how much she cares.” Norine adds, “Cherin not only volunteers at Heritage Village, but gives her time as well to Heritage Green (Greenhurst) and our assisted living facility, Bergquist Memorial (Gerry). She arrives every Monday for Bible Study and ‘Sharing with Cherin.’ She also visits with sick residents and is always there to help a friend in need. She is reliable, loving, and kind. Cherin also volunteers in the Gerry community with the rodeo and organizing benefits for those in need.”
