One-car accident injures two

MINA – The Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office along with Findley Lake and Sherman fire departments responded to a one-car accident on Route 426 Saturday night.

It is alleged a vehicle operated by Darcy J. Smith, 49, with passenger Charles W. Insinger, 53, both of Youngsville, Pa., lost control and entered a ditch, hitting a utility pole.

Insinger was taken to Hamot Medical Center by Starflight and Smith was also transported to Hamot for injuries sustained during the accident.

Investigation is ongoing and charges are pending.

SHERIDAN – Martin J. Wroblewski, 49, of Dunkirk, was charged Sunday with driving while intoxicated, DWI per se and speeding after a traffic stop on Route 5.

Wroblewski was stopped on his motorcycle around 7 a.m. for allegedly going over the 55 mph speed limit. He was released with tickets for the Sheridan Town Court.
