Jean A. Woncki

PERRYSBURG – Jean A. Woncki, 69, of Main Street, Perrysburg passed away Sunday (April 21, 2013) at the Unity Living Center in downtown Rochester.

Born April 10, 1944 in Gowanda, she was the daughter of the late Howard Strohauer and Virginia Estella.

She married Clarence D. Woncki on Aug. 22, 1992 in the Episcopal Church in Springville. Clarence died on March 29, 2009.

Jean was an aide at the JN Adams Developmental Center in Perrysburg for nearly 20 years after which she worked for the Gowanda Central School District in housekeeping.

Always a Perrysburg resident, her memberships include the Gowanda Assembly of God, the Perrysburg Fireman’s Auxiliary and Eastern Star, Phoenix Lodge 262 at the Gowanda Masonic Temple.

She is survived by two sons: Douglas (Joan) Castellano of Angola and Samuel (Pamela) Castellano of South Dayton; a daughter, Tonya (Michael) Crouse of Gowanda; four step-children: Tammy, Kenny, Christina, and Michael Woncki; a brother, Charles (Martha) Strohauer of Fla.; two sisters: Joyce (Tom) White of Ariz. and Jane Johnson of Neb.; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, Jean was preceded in death by a brother, Elroy.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, April 25 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Schindler Funeral Home at 44 Center St. in Gowanda. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home at 10 a.m. Friday, April 26.
