OES hosts official district deputy visit

FORESTVILLE – Forestville Chapter 247 Order of the Eastern Star recently hosted Chautauqua District official visit of Helen Patti, district deputy grand matron, and Quentin O. Bensink, district grand lecturer, at 7:30 p.m. at the Masonic Hall, Main Street, Forestville. Jackie Olszewski, grand representative of Alberta, Canada, near the Grand Chapter of New York, was also present.

Officers of the evening were Worthy Matron Mary Prue, Worthy Patron Greg Heiden, Associate Matron Peg Heiden, Associate Patron Larry Stiles, Secretary Cynthia Stiles, Treasurer Kathleen Parker, Conductress Beth Benchley, Associate Conductress Jackie Olszewski, Marshal Donna Johnson, Musician Frances Dolce, Warder Mildred Jankowski, Sentinel Lorna Kerr, Color Bearer Lance Parker, Ada – Betty Schroeder; Ruth – Dawn Hitcome; Esther – Martha Woolley; Martha – Lois Bentzoni; and Electa – Donna Johnson. The Floral Ceremony from an original 1897 writing was presented to Lorna Kerr.

The deputy and lecturer brought greetings from the grand matron and patron. They encouraged support of the projects as well as attendance at Chautauqua Suites in Mayville in May and at Oriskany in July, reservations for which are to be given soon to Bensink.

Forestville will host a public spaghetti supper Saturday from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Masonic Hall for the building maintenance fund. Call 965-2064 for further information.
