Jamestown Business College, Seneca Gaming training expands

JAMESTOWN – For the past two years, Jamestown Business College and Seneca Gaming Corporation have partnered to bring professional training to select employees in the Corporation’s Career Development program at Seneca Allegany Casino in Salamanca.

Next week, the training will extend to Niagara Falls. The extension to Seneca Niagara Casino stems from the success of the program at the initial location.

JBC President David Conklin said that he is pleased to continue the partnership at a new location. “The feedback we have received on the program has been very positive and we are excited to continue to help the Corporation meet their training goals at a new location.”

As part of the four-week program, JBC will offer professional development seminars to participants in the Career Development Program at Seneca Niagara Casino. Trainings will focus on areas of professional and dining etiquette, accountability, motivation, and strong customer service.

JBC, who has traditionally offered extensive career development training to its Associate and Bachelor degree students, extended its programming in an effort to partner with the community.

JBC President David Conklin said that trainings like this have come as a natural progression. “Over the past several years, we have experienced great success with our own professional training at both the Associate and Bachelor degree level,” he said. “So, when we were approached to partner with SGC, it seemed like a great opportunity to partner. Their goals for the future and our trainings go hand-in-hand. Needless to say, we are happy to see the program extend to Niagara Falls.”

The SGC Career Development Program, that runs in all of the Seneca properties, has a goal of empowering qualified Seneca team members for advancement within the Seneca Gaming Corporation. Participants complete work in various departments of the casino and also participate in various leadership and professional activities as they progress through the program.
