Church plans Swiss steak dinner
The Dunkirk United Methodist Church is have a Swiss steak dinner on Tuesday, May 7, on the corner of Sixth Street and Washington Avenue from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. or until sold out. Cost is $8. The meal includes dessert and beverage. Eat in, take-out or delivery are available. Call 366-2230.
Annual church barbecue set for May 5
SILVER CREEK – Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Porter and Adams avenues, will host the annual chicken barbecue, catered by Chiavetta’s, on Sunday, May 5, from noon to 3 p.m. The event will take place on the church lawn and is open to the public by ticket sale only. Tickets are available at $8.50 each from any Zion member. Sales at the door are usually limited to 50 tickets or less. If interested in purchasing a ticket, leave a message with the church office at 934-4742. All monies are due in advance and, as in the past, Zion will donate the proceeds to the service of the church and to local charitable organizations.
Church to feature guest speaker
CASSADAGA – The Rev. Susan Dinsmore from Canada is the featured guest speaker at Universal Unity of Spirit in Cassadaga on Sunday at 1:30 p.m. Preceding the lecture, Diana Szydelko and David Small will be providing prayer chaplain and healing services from 1 to 1:30 p.m. All are welcome to attend the services and the refreshments and fellowship that follow at 89 N. Main St. (Route 60).
Today, the Rev. Shirley Calkins Smith will be facilitating a workshop entitled “Discovering and Becoming The New Human” from 1 to 4 p.m. Pre-registration is required. Also, Tuesdays at 7:30 p.m. Stephanie Turachak is facilitating a meditation and spiritual development circle. This is open to all and no registration is necessary. Chicken barbecue to be held Sunday
St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish’s annual chicken barbecue will be held this Sunday from 11 a.m. until sold out. Children’s portions are available for $6, and adult portions will be $9 at the door. There will also be a raffle of prizes featuring an autographed football from the Buffalo Bills, as well as a Buffalo Sabres shirt, sent by the team.
Many other prizes will also be available. This dinner supports the Parish Ministry, and the community’s support would be greatly appreciated. All are welcome.
