Dunkirk-Fredonia 17, Niagara Falls 0

Ryan Thompson recorded four goals and three assists while Nick Pchelka added a hat trick in Dunkirk-Fredonia’s 17-0 shutout of Niagara Falls.

Christopher Michalski, Brandon Prentiss and Alex Venn had two goals each as Stephen Aldrich, Brandon Katta, Tyler Sack and Nolan Mages each lit the lamp once. Michalski led Dunkirk-Fredonia with four assists while Prentiss, Aldrich, Katta, Alex Majka, Zack Rybak and Jackson Taylor had two assists each. Sack and Austin Venn each had an assist.

Goalies Brianna Gawronski and Jackson Chilberg combined for the shutout.

Dunkirk-Fredonia returns to action May 5 against Cheektowaga.

NCCS 9, Queen of Heaven 3

Hannah Cybart struck out 13 batters on the mound and added three hits in Northern Chautauqua Catholic’s win over Queen of Heaven. Caitlyn Cybart led the Monarchs with four hits, a triple and a double. Katie Price (double), Brianna Gawronski and Mackenzie Markham recorded two hits while Grace Pucciarelli knocked a triple.

NCCS 16, St. Vincent DePaul 1

The Lady Monarchs used a 16-hit outing to invoke the mercy rule and defeat St. Vincent DePaul in five innings. Katie Price (double) and Caitlyn Cybart (triple) led NCCS’ offensive effort with three hits while Mackenzie Markham (double), Brianna Gawronski (double), and Brittany Lombardo added two hits each.

Hannah Cybart earned the win after she struck out eight, walked one and allowed a hit in nine innings of work. Grace Pucciarelli closed out the game and struck out the side in the fifth.

Price used her arm to throw a runner out at the plate while Pucciarelli turned a double play after a great catch in right field.
