Natividad Fred, 85, of Dunkirk, died Sunday evening, April 28, 2013, at the TLC/HN-Nursing Facility in Hanover, with her loving family at her side.
She was born December 24, 1927, in Ciales, Puerto Rico, daughter of the late Ciriaco and Marcola Santiago Morales.
A homemaker, she also worked at one time for Russell Joy Farms and Roberto Fred Farms, owned by her son.
Natividad enjoyed playing Dominos, cards, gardening, spending time with all her family, and loved to cook for them also. She was a loving sister, aunt, mother, grandmother, and great-greatmother. She will be sadly missed.
Her memberships include St. Elizabeth Ann Seton R.C. Church, and the parish Sacred Heart Society.
Surviving are her children Miguel Fred Jr., Roberto (Milagros) Fred, Jose (Minerva) Fred, Luis Antonio Fred, Miguel (An-tonia) Flores all of Dunkirk, Luis M. (Bobbie Joe) Fred of Florida, daughters Maria D. Quiles, Ada (Antonio) Rivera, Maria (Salvador) Fred, all of Dunkirk, Iris Miriam (Jaime) Gonzalez of Fredonia; sister Felicita Morales of Connecticut. 49 grandchildren, 81 great-grandchildren, 17 great-great-grandchildren along with many nieces and nephews also survive.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Miguel Fred, who died June 11, 1986; son Ismael Fred who died March 10, 2009; daughter Carmen Iris Fred who died September 22, 2004; brothers Jose, Fidel, Antonio and Ofracio Morales, sisters Maria, Gloria, Angela Morales.
Relatives and friends are welcome to call at the R. Mackowiak Funeral Home Inc., 56 East Doughty Street in Dunkirk on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9. Funeral services will be Friday morning at 10 o’clock at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton R. C. Church. Interment will follow in St. Anthony’s Cemetery.
