Hayden Perryman, Derek Roehner and Donald Gula combined on a 1-hitter to lead their team to an opening day win.

Perryman also had the key hit of the game, a two-out base hit to deliver the winning runs.

For Park Place, Zach Begosian pitched well and drove in his team’s only run.

Tim Horton’s 3

Derek Roehner and Hayden Perryman combined to strike out 15 in a two-hit performance to lead Exelco/Newbrook to the win.

Roehner also tripled to drive in a run.

Vineyards Golf League

There will be a Thursday Night Golf League informational meeting today at 6 p.m. at the Vineyards Golf Course.

Fredonia Girls Basketball Camp

Fredonia Central School will host a girls basketball camp Monday, June 24 to Thursday, June 27 from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

The cost of the camp is $95 per camper or $80 of paid by June 1. Those who send five or more students from the same school and send in their applications together can deduct $10. It is open to all girls entering grades 3-12.

Each player is expected to arrive between 8:30 and 8:55 a.m. The camp will start promptly at 9 a.m. Athletes are expected to bring their own lunch. There will be cold pop, water and Gatorade for sale at lunch time and at the end of the day. All athletes should have their ride pick them up at 3:30 p.m. All parents are welcome to come to the awards ceremony at 3 p.m. on Thursday.

Van?Miller Hometown Hero Scholarship Golf?Tournament

On Friday, June 14, the Van Miller Hometown Hero Scholarship Fund Golf Tournament presented by Lake Shore Savings Bank will once again be held at Shorewood Country Club in Dunkirk.

The fifth annual golf tournament funds a scholarship for two outstanding Dunkirk High School seniors.

The honorary emcee for this year’s event will be former Buffalo Bills player Mark Kelso.

Kelso played his entire eight-year career from 1986-1993 with the Bills and appeared in their four consecutive Super Bowl bids. He currently is a radio broadcaster for Buffalo Bills’ games on WGR 550.

There are many opportunities to support this event.
