The Women Who Golf For Fun – Shooting for first place was place Kathy Kaus, second place showed a tie between Theresa Leone and Anne Humberger. Jane Elman came in third.

The women will golf again next Wednesday teeing off at 10 a.m. Women golfers, new or previous members, are always welcomed.

Brocton American Legion Post 434 Wednesday Evening Men’s League – Dick Maggio scored a hole-in-one on the 161-yard par-3, 13th hole. Low gross: Nolan Ryan 38, Scott Jagoda 35, Jeff Thomas 40 and Bob Remington 40. Low net: Tim Lehman 30, Jagoda 31, Thomas 34, Remington 34, Bob Kaus 35, Clint Nagel 35, Andy Deakin 35 and Nick Speziale 35. Closest to the pin on the par-3 No. 16 was Junior Martinez. Most team points scored: Gary Arnold and Tim Lehman 16, Bob Kaus and Dave Travis 13. Skins were won by Maggio, Thomas, Dave Willebrandt, Jagoda and Al Brumagin.

Dunkirk Slo Pitch meeting

The organizational meeting for all teams interested in participating in the Dunkirk Recreation Men’s Slo Pitch Softball League is scheduled for Thursday, May 9, at 6 p.m.

The meeting will be held in the Second Floor Conference Room at City Hall.

Discussed will be league format, rules, fees and rosters.

All teams should be represented at this meeting. Any teams wishing to participate but are unable to attend this meeting should call the Recreation Office at 366-9885 weekdays.

Fredonia Girls Basketball Camp

Fredonia Central School will host a girls basketball camp Monday, June 24 to Thursday, June 27 from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

The cost of the camp is $95 per camper or $80 if paid by June 1. Those who send five or more students from the same school and send in their applications together can deduct $10. It is open to all girls entering grades 3-12.

Each player is expected to arrive between 8:30 and 8:55 a.m. The camp will start promptly at 9 a.m. Athletes are expected to bring their own lunch. There will be cold pop, water and Gatorade for sale at lunch time and at the end of the day. All athletes should have their ride pick them up at 3:30 p.m. All parents are welcome to come to the awards ceremony at 3 p.m. on Thursday.
