Mayor Dolce proclaims ‘Safety Saturday’

Dunkirk Mayor Anthony J. Dolce has proclaimed today as Safety Saturday in the city in recognition of the Putnam Record Insurance Agency conducting its first “Safety Saturday” today from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Chautauqua County Fairgrounds.

As part of the event, the Dunkirk Fire Department will conduct a safety demonstration; the Dunkirk Police Department will be overseeing the child finger printing kits; the New York State Police Department will be checking car seats to ensure they are properly installed; and Rich Goodman of Spoke Folk and Wheel People will be discussing bicycle safety.

Dolce urged city residents to participate in the event in which “parents will be able to proactively increase their children’s safety awareness through several important on-site activities.”
