Won’t forget columnist

Editor, OBSERVER:

Dan O’Rourke is a friend to so many and we will miss his column, but we will never forget Dan.

He is one of the most spiritual people that I have met. He gives of himself to help others, his community and a genuine nice person all the way around.

Writer leaves an ‘impact’

Editor, OBSERVER:

I’ve relished Dan O’Rourke’s columns over the years, and I’ve read both of his books (twice!)

He’s a very special person who shared a lot of wisdom and food for thought over the years. His columns will be missed. May he know how much he meant to his readers, and the wonderful impact he had on them.

Let taxpayers

do the voting

Editor, OBSERVER:

My comment goes out to the up and coming city of Dunkirk school budget.

The school budget is financed by city taxpayers. It is their money and they and only they should have the voting powers to decide what to do with their money. Those who don’t pay into the system should not have a say where the tax money goes or how much.

It is not fair to the city taxpayers to allow these people to vote on any school budget that they don’t pay into. It is as simple as that.

If you don’t have a tax stub showing you pay taxes then as far as I am concerned, you don’t vote period. Remember this money belongs to the taxpayers only.
