Fredonia teen bicyclist sent to Brooks Hospital

On Monday, Lorismar Alicea, 18, of 3742 E. Main Road, Fredonia, was riding her bicycle south on the sidewalk when she was struck by a vehicle exiting the Country Fair Parking lot at the intersection of Routes 60 and 20.

Douglas Taylor, 38, of 56 South St., Cattaraugus, was the driver of the vehicle. When turning right onto Route 60, he failed to see Alicea and knocked her down.

Alicea was taken to Brooks Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. State police issued Taylor a summons for failure to yield the right of way. He is to appear in the Pomfret Court to answer the charges.

Justin M. Wells, 18, of Rochester was charged with having an open container and unlawful possession of alcohol on May 4.
