Silver Creek man to celebrate 90th
SILVER CREEK – Charlie Brennan of Silver Creek will be celebrating his 90th birthday on May 26. His family would like to extend an invitation for family and friends to come to an open house on Sunday, May 26 from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. at his home in Silver Creek.
He grew up in Silver Creek with his sisters and brother, Marion, Betty, Marge and Ron. His marriage to Mary Jane Winstel was in April 1946. He served in the Army during World War II as a mechanic. Charlie and Mary have five children, Linda, Paul, Steve, Richard and David. His career included being a machinist at the Ford plant in Buffalo and at Schroer & Gorndt machine shop in Silver Creek; a grape farmer selling to Welch and Red Wing; owning and running Brennan’s Farm Market in Sheridan and Hanover Machine Shop with his son; and an accomplished wood craftsman which included, among many other things, building a steamboat from the hull up. He is an active member of the Sheridan United Methodist Church.
Westfield man to celebrate 90th
WESTFIELD – Vincent R. Calarco, 90, celebrates his 90th birthday on May 18.
He was born in Westfield and married Charlotte DuChaine on Sept. 2, 1950. He served in World War II in the European theater from 1944 to 1946.
He was employed and then owned Calarco’s Restaurant with his wife and three children. They have six grandchildren and one great-grandson. They will celebrate their 63rd anniversary Sept. 2.
