Infinity Visual and Performing Arts welcomes two new instructors
JAMESTOWN – Infinity Visual and Performing Arts is announcing two new instructors to its music program; Anne Eklund and Tim O’Brien.
Eklund studied vocal performance at Shenandoah Conservatory of Music, Longwood College, Virginia Commonwealth University and Houston Baptist University. She also toured the U.K. for two months singing in churches as a soloist in the Vaughn Williams “Magnificate.” In addition, Ecklund has performed extensively on stage in many opera and theater companies including the Virginia Opera Company and was once a young artist in residence at the Chautauqua Institution Opera Company, performing in their rendition of “Turandot.” She is currently the cantor and choir director at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church in Lakewood and an artistic director at the Lucille Ball Little Theater in Jamestown. Among her awards are the National Association of Teachers of Singing awards – four times achieving first place and going on to win nationals twice.
O’Brien is a classically trained multi-instrumentalist from Jamestown. He earned his B.S. in biochemistry with a minor in violin performance at Allegheny College. While in school he was very active in the music community playing in the Meadville Civic Symphony, the Allegheny College Jazz Band, as well as various chamber groups and student organized bands. Having a strong background in music theory, O’Brien believes that once a strong foundation and understanding of our musical system has been established, there is no telling where music will take you.
