Dunkirk Little League
Exempts 14, First Ward Falcon Club 4 – Zac Romanik and Ethan Yannie pitched a combined one-hit, six-strikeout game. Romanik was 2 for 3 with a two-run triple, Yannie contributed an RBI and a single while Lucas Porpiglia went 2 for 3 with a two-run double.
Yannie picked up the win on the mound.
Fredonia Wright League
American Legion 10, Moose 9 – Tyler Cain hit a walk-off home run in the bottom of the sixth inning to lead the Legion to victory. Cain also connected on another home run in the first inning and a double in the fifth. Also adding to the Legion’s offensive attack were Derrick Walters, Haeden Walters and Michael Dispense, who all had two hits each. Walters and Cain shared pitching duties and combined for 11 strikeouts.
Nathan Shuart led the Moose at the plate with three hits, including a double while Tyler Putney contributed a double of his own. Pitching for the Moose were Tyler Winchell and Braden Myers.
American Legion 4, DFT Communication 0 – Derrick Walters pitched a one-hitter while striking out 10 in a complete-game effort. Alec Schrader led the offense driving in two runs and scoring once with two hits, including a double. Mike Dispense drove in the fourth run for the Legion.
Pitching duties for DFT were shared by Jamison Horsch and Marcus Seasteadt.
Brandon Plaister had the lone hit in defeat.
American Legion 10, Fireman 0 – For the Legion, Tyler Cain pitched a complete game, striking out eight while going 4 for 4 at the plate with three doubles and a triple. Derrick Walters added three hits while Tyler Rosen, Jacob Skinner and Gabe Schrader all reached base safely.
Pitching duties for the Fireman were shared by Lucas Green and Brandon Wallace. Blake Frey had a double while Keith Piper and Green singled for team’s only three hits.

Dunkirk Moose Club Thursday Night Golf League – Points: Shawn Hennessey 8.5, Mike Rylowicz 8, Brian Christina 7.5, Wally Bates 7, Pat Mackowiak 7, Gabe Bauza 7, Steve Dudek 6.5, Rick Ludemann 6.5, Dave Trentini 6.5 and Bob Adams 6.5.
Skins were won by: Hennessey (No. 5). Closest to the pin: Paul Heyden (No. 3) and Mackowiak (No.8).

Thursday Night Men’s Golf League – Scott Johnson 36, Brad Kelly 40, Matt Wallace 40, Fred Chamberlin 41, Tom Gauronski 41, Bill Blizzard 42. Low net: Dan Goede 29. Skins were won by: Kelly (No. 3, birdie), Goede (No. 5, birdie), Alex McQuiggan (No. 8, birdie), Wallace (No. 9, birdie). Closest to the pin: Rob Lancaster (No. 6).
Gowanda Men’s Softball Tourney
Set For June 8
The 18th annual Gowanda Men’s Slow Pitch Softball Tournament will be held on Saturday, June 8. It will be a double-elimination tournament with a home run derby. The entry fee is $75. Call Mark Benton at 532-4053 or email email@example.com for more information.
Fredonia Boys Basketball Camp
The Fredonia Central School Boys Basketball Camp will be held Friday, June 28 and Monday, July 1 through Wednesday, July 3, at the Fredonia High School and Middle School gymnasiums from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Cost for the camp is $90, or $75 if paid by June 7. The camp is open to boys entering grades 3 through 12. All campers will receive a T-shirt.
Each athlete is expected to arrive between 9 and 9:30 a.m. The camp will start promptly at 9:30 a.m. Participants are expected to bring their own lunch.

Fredonia Girls Basketball Camp
Fredonia Central School will host a girls basketball camp Monday, June 24 to Thursday, June 27 from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
The cost of the camp is $95 per camper or $80 if paid by June 1. Those who send five or more students from the same school and send in their applications together can deduct $10. It is open to all girls entering grades 3-12.
Each player is expected to arrive between 8:30 and 8:55 a.m. The camp will start promptly at 9 a.m. Athletes are expected to bring their own lunch. There will be cold pop, water and Gatorade for sale at lunch time and at the end of the day. All athletes should have their ride pick them up at 3:30 p.m. All parents are welcome to come to the awards ceremony at 3 p.m. on Thursday.
