American Scandinavian Student Exchange looking for host families
Share your home for a year. Enjoy a friendship for a lifetime. ASSE International is looking for host families for foreign exchange students for the 20132014 school year. ASSE (Ameri-can Scandinavian Student Exchange) founded in 1976, now provides exchanges amongst 60 countries all over the world. ASSE is a sponsor organization of the United States Department of State.
Exchange students (ages 1518) are carefully screened on academics, character and the ability to get along with others. They pay for their own airfare and are fully insured. They have their own spending money. Host families provide meals and a room. Exchange students may share a room with someone of the same sex and close to the same age. Host families may assist in the selection process and choose a student with common interests. Most host families have children of the same age but couples without children, single-parent families and senior citizens may qualify.
Simply by sharing your home for as little as 3 months, a semester or a school year, you will be giving an exceptional young person from another country the opportunity of a lifetime to live with your family and experience the language, customs and culture of our country. In return, your exchange student will bring to your family a bit of his or her homeland.
