Fredonia Little League Wright Division

American Legion 7, Youth Council 0

Derrick Walters tossed a complete game and fanned 15 opponents in a victorious effort for the American Legion. Walters and Michael Dispense each added a hit and key RBIs at the plate.

Devon Wiedenhoffer knocked a double to left field for Youth Council’s lone hit.

Moose Club 11,

Pucci’s 10

The Moose Club rebounded from a 6-2 first-inning deficit to score six runs in the third and claim an 11-10 victory over Pucci’s. With the game tied at 10 in the bottom of the sixth, the Moose Club loaded the bases with a Kyle Mikula hit and two walks. AJ Schrantz then knocked a game-winning RBI infield single. Schrantz and Tyler Winchell led Moose Club with two hits while Nate Shuart hit two doubles and claimed the win in relief.

Anthony Gullo led Pucci’s in a losing effort with two hits while Trey Swartz, Nico Pucci and Kaleb Rybij added doubles.

Moose Club 19,

Youth Council 9

Tyler Winchell led the Moose Club’s 16-hit parade with three hits and a triple. Matt Tinstman, Joey Vandette, Michael Berg, Tyler Putney and Nate Shuart (double) knocked two hits each. Brayden Meyers and Putney combined to strike out 11 batters in the win.

Dalton Gardner paced Youth Council with three hits while Michael Barnes and Trace Mackenzie had two hits each.

Fredonia Little League Majors

St. George 7, Culligan Water 2

Katie Price led St. George with two singles in the win as Grace Mroczka added a single. Pitcher Grace Pucciarelli earned the win with fielding help from Cailin Holt.

Kelsey Vianese knocked the lone hit for Culligan Water in defeat. Anna Buchanan played solid defense and Sidney Bigelow earned the loss in the circle.

St. George 18, Brocton 5

Cailin Holt, Grace Mroczka, Hannah Christy, Jane Fortuna and Grace Pucciarelli recorded hits for St. George. Katie Price turned a triple play in the final inning to preserve the win while Julia Fortna played well defensively.

Joy Golf Tournament moved to Gowanda CC

The Russell J. Joy Memorial Golf Tournament to benefit TLC Health Network has switched locations and will be played at Gowanda Country Club, 2623 Brown Street, Collins on Wednesday, August 28. Registration is set for 11 a.m. and tee-off is set for noon.

Cassadaga Valley Midget Football to hold 2013 sign-ups

Prospective players and cheerleaders can sign up for the Cassadaga Valley Midget Football Program’s 2013 season at Gerry Town Park throughout the month of June. Sign-ups will be held June 8 from 3:30 p.m.-6:30 p.m., June 9 from 2:30 p.m.-6 p.m. and June 15 from 2 p.m-6 p.m. All athletes must turn nine before Dec. 1, 2013 and can’t turn 14 before Aug. 1.

Participants must bring a parent/guardian and a copy for a birth certificate before registration. Fees are $50 for a family with one athlete, $75 for a family with two athletes and $80 for a family for at least three athletes.
