Hanover motorcycle accident leads

to minor injuries

HANOVER – An accident at the intersection of Angell Road and Hanover Road on Tuesday led to a 24-year-old Forestville man receiving minor injuries.

Shortly after 3:30 p.m., police found that 49-year-old Jose Reyes of Fredonia had failed to yield the right of way at the stop sign on Angell Road. Reyes started from the stop sign and pulled into the path of Matthew Greenough, who was operating a motorcycle eastbound on Hanover Road.

Greenough was thrown from the motorcycle and suffered what appeared to be non-life threatening injuries. He was treated at the scene by EMS personnel prior to being airlifted by Starflight to Erie County Medical Center for further evaluation.

Reyes was issued uniform traffic tickets for the violations causing the accident. He will appear in Hanover Town Court at a later date.

Westfield Police Department

Sergio L. Dros, 22, of Rochester was charged with petit larceny on a warrant on May 15. At 1:55 a.m., police noticed a suspicious male at the intersection of Market and Clinton streets in the village. Police found the suspect, Dros, was found to have a warrant out of the Village of Westfield Court.

He was taken into custody, arraigned and sent to the Chautauqua County Jail in lieu of bail.

Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office

Travis Franklin, 25, of Dunkirk, was arrested Sunday morning for driving while intoxicated.

Shortly after midnight, police allegedly observed Franklin fail to stop at the posted stop sign on Webster Road at the Fredonia Stockton Road intersection.

He is charged with failure to stop at a stop sign, driving while intoxicated and driving with a blood alcohol content level above the legal limit.

Franklin is due in Pomfret Town Court at a later date.

HANOVER – Patrick Brockhaus, 26, of Irving, was arrested Tuesday and charged with unlawful possession of marijuana.

Around 7 a.m., Sheriff deputies investigated an incident on South Shore Drive, where Brockhaus was allegedly found to be in possession of a small quantity of marijuana.

He is scheduled to appear in Hanover Town Court on a later date to answer the charge.
