LERHSNY official to address layoffs at Lake Shore

IRVING – The interim Chief Executive Officer of the Lake Erie Regional Health System of New York is expected to make a statement today regarding possible layoffs at Lake Shore Health Care Center in Irving.

On Tuesday, readers contacted the OBSERVER, stating they had been laid off or had friends or relatives who were either laid off or were expected to be laid off shortly.

The OBSERVER contacted Scott A. Butler, LERHSNY vice president for marketing and community relations, but Butler said he could not speak on the topic directly. At 10 p.m. Tuesday he sent an e-mail which stated that Interim CEO J. Gary Rhodes would be addressing the topic in the morning.

LERHSNY’s facilities include Brooks Memorial Hospital in Dunkirk, Lake Shore Health Care Center in Irving, and the various outpatient facilities of TLC Health Network.
