David J. Lewandowski

David J. Lewandowski, age 49, of Fredonia, NY, co-owner of Fredonia Heating & Plumbing, Inc. died Tuesday May 21, 2013 as a result of a one-car accident on Chestnut Street in the Town of Pomfret.

David was born June 13, 1963 in Dunkirk to David T. and the late Elsie Litz Lewandowski. He attended Fredonia schools and graduated from Fredonia High School. As co-owner, with his brother Dan, he operated their successful family business, Fredonia Plumbing & Heating, Inc., with integrity and dedication to customers and staff alike.

A person of high energy and a zest for life, David had many interests. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating and gardening. He also enjoyed baking and canning various fruits and vegetables, especially sauerkraut. David was a member of the Fredonia Vol. Fire Dept. for over 25 years.

He is survived by his father, David T. Lewandowski; his stepmother Carolyn Lewandowski; two sisters, Cindy (Ray) Coniglio of Quarkertown, PA., and Linda (Bill) Dowdwell of Atlanta, GA; a brother, Dan (Amy) Lewandowski of Fredonia; his beloved companion, Bonnie Saletta; and his uncles, Frank (Mary) Lewandowski, Ray Lewandowski, Jim (Sonya) Lewandowski, and an aunt, Elizabeth Abbott. David is survived by 2 stepbrothers, Rick (Dawn) Meyer of Atlanta, GA, and Scott (Sabrina) Meyer, of Atlanta, GA; and a stepsister, Melissa (John) Robertson of Charleston, SC. He is the uncle of Jessica Coniglio, Megan (Gene) Weldon, Jack Dowdell, Emily Dowdell, Shawn, Nick, Lauren, Kayla, Madison, Jake and Sarah Meyers and Paige Robertson. Great uncle of Lucy Weldon and Lilly Meyer. Also survived by many cousins and extended family members Laurie Ensign, Brianne Myers, Stephanie Hammond, Trevor and Ayden and his great friend, David Gens.

Besides his mother Elsie, David was preceded in death by his uncle, Richard Lewandowski.

Friends may call Friday, 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at the Larson-Timko Funeral Home, 20 Central Avenue, Fredonia, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at St. Joseph’s Church, 145 E.
