Pomfret seeks community member

The Pomfret Town Board is seeking a community member involved in the agri-business community to sit on the comprehensive plan committee. The comprehensive plan requires the committee be made up of board members and residents. The volunteer must be a town of Pomfret resident. Anyone interested can contact a town board member or call the town hall at 672-7496.

Comptroller’s office to be at Hollywood Happening

Residents will have the opportunity to see if they are owed some of the state’s $12 billion in unclaimed funds. Representatives from State Comptroller Thomas P. DiNapoli’s office will be at the Hollywood Happening in Gowanda on May 31. They will be at the Hollywood Theater from 3 to 8 p.m. New Yorkers may also check for unclaimed funds at www.osc.state.ny.us or by calling toll free at 1-800-221-9311.

Holy Trinity Church to hold Healing Mass May 29

On May 29, Holy Trinity Church in Dunkirk will hold a Charismatic Healing Mass at 7 p.m. Father Richard DiGiulio will be the main celebrant. The church is located at 1032 Central Ave.

Cassadaga Lake walk this Saturday

The annual Cassadaga Library Walk Around the Lake will be held in Cassadaga this Saturday. Walkers will step out at about 10 a.m. The event begins at the beach. The length of the walk is about three miles. The cost of a ticket is $5. Proceeds from the event support the Cassadaga Branch Library of the Mary E. Seymour Library.

The Board of the Mary E. Seymour Library recently purchased the library from the Town of Stockton and hope it will be reopened soon.

Students from the Job Corps will be helping on the site during the day. Food items will also be on sale and the profit will also benefit the library.

Village of Cassadaga Historian John Sipos is getting his patriotic outfit ready and will be acting as master of ceremonies.
