Grand marshal named for city parade
Andrew Dziduch is the grand marshal for this year’s Memorial Day parade, which begins around 11 a.m. in the city of Dunkirk.
Dziduch was born and raised and still lives in Dunkirk. He comes from a family of patriots. His father George Dziduch was an Army veteran of World War I, serving in Europe. His brother Stanley Dziduch was a Navy Veteran of World War II, serving in the Pacific Ocean. Stanley was a Pearl Harbor survivor.
Andrew is a Navy veteran of World War II, serving in the Pacific Ocean on the LST 993. He also served in the Naval Reserves, recalled to duty in the Korean War in the Pacific Ocean on the destroyer USS Duncan 874.
