Grant applications due by Saturday

ASHVILLE – The Chau-tauqua County Department of Planning & Economic Development would like to remind those interested in applying for 2 percent grant funding for lake and waterways projects, the applications are due no later than 4 p.m. Saturday.

This earmarked funding for the enhancement and protection of the lakes and waterways of Chautauqua County through the 2 percent occupancy tax solely dedicated to water resources within the county. Applications may be submitted by various groups and organizations including; not-for-profit, government, businesses and corporations, public and private schools, and all landowners of Chautauqua County.

Successful projects funded under this program include but not limited to: streambank/shoreline/ditch stabilization, sediment retention basins, watergardens, buffer strips, and habitat improvement projects.
