Cutest Pet Contest

at Dunkirk Free Library extended until June 7

The Friends of the Dunkirk Free Library will extend voting for the Cutest Pet Contest until June 7 at the library.

The Summer Book Sale will be June 8 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The winner and finalists of the contest will be announced at 1 p.m., and pet owners will be notified by phone.

Dr. Barnes to appear on Senior Report

Senior Report with Reed Powers will have Dr. Robert Barnes as the guest on Saturday’s television program. Barnes is a doctor of osteopathic medicine.

The live, call-in program airs from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturdays. Individuals may call 753-5225 during that time with questions, comments or a shout-out.

The program is rebroadcast daily at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. for some communities.

Reconstruction

The Fredonia-Pomfret Recreation Department requests all users of the Russell Joy Park Baseball Field stay off of the infield during its reconstruction.

Any teams or individuals who use the facility for practice may continue to use the outfield until construction is complete. There will be an announcement when the field will be returned to normal use.

Attic & Seller Days map signup deadline Tuesday

Attic & Seller Days is coming up June 7-9. Maps will be on sale in the Barker Commons Park at the Information Booth starting at 8 a.m. on Friday.

These sales will include: Fredonia, Dunkirk, Broc-ton, Westfield, Sheridan.

If you would like to be included on the map to hold a sale, you may sign up at the Fredonia Chamber, 25 Day St., Fredonia. If any questions, call 679-1565. Must be signed up by Tuesday.

Willowbrook water tower project postponed

The raising of the new Willowbrook Avenue water tank Wednesday was postponed by excessive wind. The work is rescheduled to take place today. The new tank will be capable of holding 2 million gallons of water, four times the capacity of the existing tank.
