Nation of Patriots to launching 4th annual Nationwide Patriot Tour

The Nation of Patriots will send the American flag on its 4th annual journey around the country to honor the U.S. Armed Forces.

June 1-2 Plans have been finalized for the 2013 Patriot Tour event at Harley Davidson of Jamestown Inc. The tour, in its fourth year, consists of one American flag journeying across the country in honor of America’s Armed Forces. The flag will arrive from Erie Harley Davidson on June 1 at noon. The Patriot Tour is a 100-day, 48-state journey in which tens of thousands unite to help pass one American Flag while they honor our past, present and fallen Armed Forces members and their families.

On Sunday, the Chautauqua-Kinzua HOG Chapter will leave Harley Davidson of Jamestown Inc. at 9 a.m. to carry the flag to American Twin Harley Davidson in Painted Post. On the journey they will pass through Little Valley at 9:30 a.m., Salamanca at 9:45 a.m., stopping at the American Legion in Allegany at 10 a.m. and departing from there at 10:20 a.m., to pass through Allegany, Olean, Portville, continuing on to Bolivar at 11 a.m., Friendship at 11:20 a.m., Kanona at 12:25 p.m., then do a drive-through the V.A. Hospital Grounds in Bath and continuing on to American Twin Harley Davidson, arriving there at 1:30 p.m., where we will transfer the Flag to the Corning NY HOG Chapter. C-K HOG would appreciate your support by lining the street to cheer us on as we pass through your communities. Any Motorcycle riders who would like to join in the ride are invited to join us as we depart Jamestown at 9 a.m.

The Patriot Tour event at Harley Davidson of Jamestown Inc. was conceived and organized by Chautauqua-Kinzua HOG Chapter. The Patriot Tour and its parent organization, the Nation of Patriots, were conceived by the group’s founder, Milwaukeean Bill Sherer, and his team.

The flag will again travel some 14,000 miles as riders from 48 states will accept the flag at predetermined locations. Participation levels are expected to be greater than last year’s nearly 90,000 riders, with events planned in each of the 48 states to raise awareness of the Nation of Patriots’ cause financially supporting families of wounded veterans.

While in its fourth “official” year, this will actually be the fifth year that a tour has taken place to raise money for those supported by the Nation of Patriots. Sherer was the lone rider and flag bearer on a 2009 tour that traveled through 33 states east of the Mississippi. On his motorcycle, and at his own expense, he worked to raise awareness and money for the families of wounded veterans. He ended the tour in Milwaukee and worked with the VA Hospital there to direct the money raised to military families.

The Nation of Patriots is a non-profit 501(c) 3 corporation founded in 2009 by Bill Sherer. A complete map of the 2013 Patriot Tour, and more information about the organization, can be found at www.nationofpatriots.org.
