City fire causes minor damage

The Dunkirk Fire Department responded to an early morning fire in the city of Dunkirk Saturday. The department was called to a reported structure fire at 59 Tenney St. at 8:25 a.m. Upon arrival, crews found a fire burning on the outside of the one-family home. The fire was extending up the exterior wall. The fire was extinguished with no extension into the structure.

Damage was moderate to the outside wall. No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire was determined to be accidental.

SUNSET BAY – A 16-year-old Silver Creek male was charged with violation of curfew Friday around 1 a.m. Deputies observed the subject loitering at the Hanover Town Parking Lot on South Shore Drive, thus violating the Hanover Local Law for curfew. The subject was issued an appearance ticket to appear in Hanover Town Court at a later date.

SUNSET BAY – Jeffrey Brodlowicz, 25, of Buffalo, and Joseph Nosbisch, 26, of Cheektowaga, were charged with possession of an open container of alcohol Thursday around 11 a.m. The two men were allegedly walking down South Shore Drive with open containers of alcohol. They were issued appearance tickets and will appear in Hanover Town Court at a later date.

PORTLAND – Thomas Thompson, 44, of Portland, was charged with second-degree menacing Friday morning after he allegedly threatened another individual with a pair of scissors. Thompson was taken into custody and arraigned in Chautauqua Town Court due to the unavailability of the Portland Town Court. Bail was set and Thompson was sent to the Chautauqua County Jail. He will appear in Portland Town Court at a later date.

Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office

PERRYSBURG – Jason Martin, 38, of East Aurora, was charged with second-degree harassment on May 25 around 5 p.m. after he allegedly made several verbal threats to a female victim. He was issued an appearance ticket to appear in Perrysburg Town Court at a later date.

GOWANDA – James Richard Freeman, 18, of Gowanda, was arrested Wednesday afternoon on a violation of probation warrant. Freeman was arraigned in Cattaraugus County Court and taken to Cattaraugus County Jail with bail set at $3,000. He will appear back in court at a later date.
