Pomfret Assessor’s Office to be closed for two days

The Town of Pomfret Assessor’s Office will be closed on June 13 and June 17 for class and staff training. If you have any questions, feel free to call 672-8736.

Crafters sought for ‘Fly-In’ event

The Dunkirk Rotary Club seeks crafters and vendors interested in being part of its annual Fly-In Breakfast from 8 a.m. to noon July 14 at the Dunkirk Airport. The club welcomes crafters who provide handmade crafts, fine art and gourmet food products.

A limited number of indoor spaces will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Crafter booth spaces are $25 for a single 10- by 10-foot space or you may purchase a double space for $40. Tables and chairs will be provided if requested. For more information, call 366-3000, ext. 401.

The Western New York Drum Corps will hold its practice Thursday at 7:30 p.m. at Acquavia Legion Post.

Habitat for Humanity to hold informational meeting Thursday

The North County satellite of Chautauqua Area Habitat for Humanity will begin its fourth house this month. All interested people are invited to an informational meeting at 7 p.m. on Thursday in the Silver Creek High School cafeteria. Plans for construction of the next house on Knight Street will be outlined, and information about volunteering for Habitat will be shared. Those with questions can call 934-9543.

Portland/Brocton Republican meeting set for Saturday morning

Portland/Brocton Republican meeting is Saturday at 9 a.m. in the Portland Town Hall. The purpose of the meeting is to discuss the election in November.

Silver Creek School pool closing Monday

The Silver Creek School pool will be closed due to construction from June 10 to Aug. 16.

Friday will be the last day for morning lap swim. The district apologizes for any inconvenience.

Collins Library Hot Dog Roast Saturday

Erie County Legislator John J. Mills announces that the annual Collins Public Library Hot Dog Roast Fundraiser will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the library, 2341 Main St., Collins. This year’s event will feature Mike Randall & Friends, “Dig Into Reading” program from 11 a.m. to noon, as well as a Friends of the Library Bake and Book Sales from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Sahlen’s hot dogs will be sold for $1 and Italian sausage for $2; both meals include a bottle of spring water. The events are held rain or shine.
